Hey there!

Welcome to my blog. This is the place where I want to share a few insights about my experiences with technology-related subjects such as my dev setup, different software technologies, and self-hosted services. If I find the time I would like to also post about some hobby projects and vacation trips. But first I wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Robin, I was born in 1999 and witnessed the evolution of computers and smartphones as a child until now. It always amazed me how you can build something out of a few lines of code which piqued my interest in HTML and CSS from the start. As I delved deeper, it became evident that I wanted to pursue this as a career. After finishing school I did a dual study with an apprenticeship and a bachelor of science in business informatics. Now I work as a software engineer and had the opportunity to work on multiple big and small projects.

Besides my work life, I am a husband to a wonderful wife and a father of two. I live in Germany in a small town with cows and horses next door, which is great for the family! Also, I am a Christian and spent a lot of time serving in the church as a youth pastor, designer, and preacher.

My motivation for writing this blog is to document my experiences for friends, family, and others who are interested in these topics. The first challenge will be staying consistent in posting here. Currently, this website serves as the initial draft of my blog. Later I want to add some categories or tags for the posts, so people who are interested in tech-related stuff can filter them, as well as people who don't understand anything about the technologies can filter for other projects or vacation trips.

If you don't like these posts, feel free to never visit them again, or even better provide some suggestions for improving my blog. Also, you can expect typos and grammatical mistakes because I'm not a native English writer/speaker.

Here are some posts I want to create in the future:

  • My Coding Journey
  • Self-Hosting Services I Use
  • My Coding Setup
  • Favorite Programming Languages And Technologies
  • Projects and Experiments
  • Mistakes and Lessons Learned
  • ...

I'm stoked! Are you?

Feel free to reach out via email (robin@jobnbackpack.com) if you'd like to chat, and see ya soon ^^
